It all started for the Elmira Kiwanis Club back in 2001. Club member Tom Hendrick had attended a trade show in Germany and tasted really great potato pancakes on the street. The recipe was sent to us by Chamber of Commerce in Cologne. 

After many years of serving “temperamental” potato pancakes (difficult to avoid undercooking or overcooking), we have moved on to man one of the traditional pancake cooking and serving lines that the festival puts on at Lions’ Hall.
