Annual Food Fund Drive for Woolwich Community Services
Christmas Goodwill Hampers
Great things happen when people work together!

For over 20 years, the Kiwanis Club of Elmira orchestrated a door-to-door campaign to ask for food donations for the Woolwich Community Services (“WCS”) Christmas Goodwill Hampers, but Covid put an end to that. To make sure the need was met, Kiwanis pivoted and banded together with virtually all the service clubs in Elmira and St. Jacobs, plus the Elmira Scouts and the EDSS First Robotics Team 4917 to promote a new concept of collecting. This project involves more than 150 volunteers delivering informational door hangers promoting the drive and then setting up stations in various locations in Woolwich to provide people an opportunity to donate money or gift cards from local food stores to help the less fortunate in our community.
In 2025, on Friday November 14th and Saturday November 15th, you will see volunteers collecting in Elmira and St. Jacobs.
All proceeds will be used by the Woolwich Community Services Christmas Goodwill Hamper Program to buy gift cards to Food Basics and Foodland so that those in need can purchase a special holiday meal for their family.
